Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Web Application Firewall (WAF) expert to join our team.

This role is part of a larger digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing the overall security posture of our organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Securely deploy and configure WAF solutions to protect web applications from common vulnerabilities, DDoS attacks, and other malicious activities.
  2. Analyze detection patterns and contribute towards fine-tuning of WAF detection capabilities.
  3. Automate WAF rule management and reporting, ensuring ongoing optimization and integration with security monitoring tools like SIEM.
  4. Support the implementation of WAF solutions for regional offices.
  5. Coordinate with Security architects and Application owners to ensure on-boarding of their web applications into WAF services.
  6. Connect and collaborate with Vulnerability management, Critical asset protection & Business teams to manage WAF non-compliances and enable remediation.
  7. Provide recommendations, support, and guidance to other security teams and application owners on WAF services.
  8. Build integrated dashboards that measure the progress of WAF deployment and WAF service key performance indicators (KPIs).
  9. Ensure close alignment with Application Security Product Manager/Owners on strategies and roadmaps.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience as a WAF Engineer/Application Security Specialist.
  • Hands-on experience in managing, deploying, and operating Web Application Firewall technologies.
  • Strong understanding of various security topics, including hardware systems, operating systems, applications, IAM, networks, databases, encryption, and digital capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of common application security vulnerabilities: OWASP Top 10 and SANS Top 25, along with mitigation controls and strategies.
  • Knowledge of monolithic and microservices application architecture and common web application frameworks.
  • Good industry certifications are beneficial but not required.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and utilize time effectively.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
