Electronics Engineering Role Overview

  • The organization is seeking a skilled PCB Design Engineer with in-depth knowledge of electronics and engineering principles to create robust and efficient printed circuit boards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Creation: Develop, validate, and maintain PCB libraries that meet organizational standards.
  • Schematic Capture: Perform accurate schematic capture and ensure design correctness through rigorous checks.
  • Component Placement: Execute component placement, considering electrical, DFA, and DFM constraints for optimal performance.
  • Power Delivery Planning: Develop power split plans and ensure robust design for reliable power delivery.
  • PCB Routing: Carry out PCB routing with controlled impedance and length-tuning as required to minimize signal loss.
  • Post-Gerber Process Handling: Handle the complete post-Gerber process with fabrication and assembly readiness for streamlined production.
  • Layer Stack-up Design: Define and calculate layer stack-ups for various board designs to achieve optimal functionality.
  • Advanced PCB Technologies: Work with HDI technologies, including blind/buried vias and high-speed peripherals, to push the boundaries of PCB design.
  • Design Validation and Review: Apply DFX guidelines during design and carry out validation reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Signal Integrity and Power Integrity: Ensure compliance with SI/PI requirements through analysis and validation to guarantee reliable system performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design robustness, reliability, and overall system performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with leading PCB design tools (e.g., Allegro, Altium, Mentor Graphics).
  • Strong knowledge of constraints setting, routing, and post-layout checks.
  • Experience with signal integrity and power integrity validation methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in multi-layer PCB stack-up design and materials selection.
  • Familiarity with HDI techniques, blind/buried vias, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Good understanding of DFM, DFA, and DFT considerations in PCB design.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
