Job Role: Optical Fiber Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed fiber optic networks. The role involves working on field projects, testing, and ensuring high-quality connectivity for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables.
  • Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure network quality and identify potential issues.
  • Support network maintenance, fault identification, and restoration of fiber breaks to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of fiber routes, splicing details, and test reports to improve project efficiency.
  • Coordinate with field teams, contractors, and customers during project execution to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and project timelines to guarantee successful project delivery.
  • Provide on-site support for FTTH, backbone, and enterprise fiber projects to meet client needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of fiber technologies (single mode, multi-mode).
  • Familiarity with fiber splicing machines, OTDR, and related tools.
  • Ability to work in field environments, travel to project sites, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Understanding of FTTH, DWDM, MPLS, and backbone fiber networks to provide expert-level support.
  • Exposure to ISP/Telecom/Infrastructure projects to leverage relevant industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and industry best practices to ensure compliance and quality delivery.
