Quality Specialist Role Overview

As a Quality Specialist at IKEA, you will be a vital part of the Quality & Sustainability Team. Your primary responsibility will be to lead projects and support business teams in ensuring products meet performance standards. You will train and verify compliance to the purchasing manual and contribute to developing and enhancing working methods in the engineering/quality field.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Conducting Gate Checks before first delivery and implementing the four-eyes principle.
  • Planning and performing audits according to the IKEA quality GO/NOGO standard working instruction.
  • Supporting business teams and suppliers in implementing containment and corrective actions based on audit results.
  • Leading category-appointed projects with support from business teams to identify and resolve quality deviations.
  • Coaching and training business teams and suppliers in the IKEA quality GO/NOGO standard and problem-solving tools.
  • Leading global/local quality-related projects.
  • Developing and implementing common working methods and tools for the Engineering & Quality matrix.
  • Supporting the introduction of new co-workers in Supply Area for common working methods and tools.
  • Performing audits and assessments of internal working methods and processes according to the quality part in the purchasing manual.
  • Representing IKEA values and serving as a role model for fact-based business leadership.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Experience in quality management within a production environment.
  • Leadership experience in project management, preferably with a six sigma/lean approach.
  • The ability to deliver results through involving, leading, and inspiring people.
  • Effective communication skills to engage co-workers, business teams, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards, production technologies, and materials.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools, such as 5 why, FMEA, fish bone, and root cause analysis.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience in formal/informal leadership and team cooperation.
  • A passion for leading/facilitating assignments/projects across the organization.
  • A proven track record of consistently meeting/exceeding results in developing business.
  • The ability to balance short-term and long-term views in a complex environment.
