Senior Building Structures Engineer Role

This is a senior engineering position that requires expertise in designing building structures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project work, specifically focusing on production and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Deliver high-quality feasibility study reports to meet client requirements, ensuring timely submission and thorough review with senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams to develop comprehensive design specifications, managing scope and timelines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Work closely with structural experts to define project scope, identifying key building requirements and user purposes to ensure accurate detailed design.
  • Conduct complex calculations and coordinate various aspects of the project, including technical reviews and sign-offs from senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee the production of detailed designs, reviewing and monitoring calculations for accuracy and consistency, and coordinating team input to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project costing information, communicating design progress to internal stakeholders and external partners through clear explanations of design decisions.
  • Coordinate contract documents, drawings, and specifications, facilitating team input and reviews to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging team members to deliver effective solutions within agreed-upon programs and timelines.
  • Maintain strict adherence to document control and QA processes, ensuring proper issuance, filing, and coaching junior staff in these procedures.
  • Supervise a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance overall team performance.

Key Competencies / Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in building structure design, preferably in a similar role or demonstrating an exceptional track record.
  • Excellent presentation skills are essential for this position.
  • Proficiency in technical structural software like RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD is mandatory.
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) is required.
  • Fluency in English with a deep understanding of technical terminology is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, communicate effectively, and work independently as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is mandatory, along with membership in a recognized engineering body.
  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
