Labware Functional Consultant Job Description

The role of a Labware Functional Consultant is to support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the LabWare LIMS platform across laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between technical teams, end users, and stakeholders, ensuring that the system meets business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, IT, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze functional requirements for LIMS workflows.
  • Design and document functional specifications for LabWare LIMS configurations and customizations.
  • Translate business processes into system configurations, leveraging LabWare LIMS functionalities such as templates, specifications, workflows, and reports.
  • Configure and validate LabWare LIMS modules, including sample lifecycle, inventory, stability, and instrument management.
  • Perform end-to-end Project Management for LIMS Upgrade project.
  • Provide training, user support, and troubleshooting assistance to laboratory personnel.
  • Work with development teams and system administrators to resolve technical issues and implement change requests.
  • Document configuration, training materials, SOPs, and user manuals as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant or Business Analyst working with LabWare LIMS.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory workflows in a regulated environment (e.g., pharma, biotech, clinical labs).
  • Experience in system configuration and process mapping within LabWare LIMS (preferably LabWare 8 or LIMS v7).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (GxP, FDA, ISO, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between technical teams and business users.
