Product Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & prototype wheelchair frames, drive modules, and ergonomic components to meet customer needs and improve quality of life.
  • Conduct market research and gather insights on consumer trends to inform product development and ensure relevance in the market.
  • Engineer lightweight, robust load-bearing structures (FEA validation) to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
  • Integrate motors, batteries, and control systems with structural design to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors for precision fabrication and quality delivery to meet customer expectations.
  • Test products for durability, safety, and compliance to ensure a high-quality end product.
  • Optimize materials and processes for cost, weight, and performance to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, changes, and manufacturing processes to provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 2–4 years' experience in product development (mobility, automotive, or structural products).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
  • Exposure to EV/mechatronic systems is an asset.
