Job Description

As an Actuarial Intern at Milliman, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of retirement and employee benefit issues. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of actuarial valuations and compliance work, performing benefit calculations, and preparing valuation and disclosure reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of actuarial valuations and compliance work for Retirement and Post Retiree Medical (OPEB) plans under single and multi-employers.
  • Perform benefit calculations and prepare valuation and disclosure reports.
  • Prepare benefit coding to replicate valuations under legacy tools.
  • Analyze and assist on special retirement projects.
  • Provide day-to-day support to staff based in Gurgaon and USA.
  • Maintain a healthy billing rate across calendar year.

Requirements / Skill Set

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A basic knowledge of retirement and/or retiree medical work.
  • Graduates or post-graduates with a strong academic record, preferably in Math, Statistics, Economics, or Commerce streams.
  • 2-3 actuarial exams completed.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
  • VBA, R, SQL, SAS experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage workflow and deliver product independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility with work timings and compatibility within team.
  • Pursuing actuarial exams and motivated to become an actuary.

Location

This role is based in our Gurgaon office, with opportunities for remote work and collaboration with our USA-based teams.
