About this role:

Gartner is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our top-tier Enterprise Security Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust security posture across Gartner's diverse technology landscape. The ideal candidate will have expertise in security best practices, network security, data protection, and endpoint security, and will be able to protect Gartner's assets and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and optimize security solutions that align with industry best practices and Gartner's specific needs.
• Design and implement security controls for endpoints, networks, data, and cloud environments.
• Manage and maintain a variety of security tools and platforms (e.g., endpoint protection, SIEM, firewalls/WAF, cloud access security brokers).
• Select, deploy, and manage endpoint protection platforms (EPP) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Configure and maintain network security solutions such as WAF/firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and network access control (NAC).
• Stay abreast of the latest security technologies and trends to identify opportunities for enhancing Gartner's security controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security risks, identify vulnerabilities, and develop remediation plans.
• Participate in security incident response activities, providing technical expertise and leadership.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of security processes, procedures, and configurations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a security engineer working on IT security projects in a dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of security principles, common attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of network security, data protection, and endpoint security concepts.
• Experience with a range of security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, SIEM).
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical and business stakeholders.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with specific security tools like BeyondTrust, Zscaler, or similar solutions is a plus.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (IaaS) in Azure or AWS is highly desirable.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are a plus.
• Strong scripting/development skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, etc.
