Job Title:

Steel Furniture Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Steel Furniture Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and prototyping steel furniture pieces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production.
  • Perform structural analysis of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability.
  • Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
  • Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Evaluate designs against safety standards, environmental regulations, and specifications.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates for production, assembly, and materials.
  • Work with the marketing team to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Present technical documentation and design presentations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.
