Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Director to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations at Star Alucast Pvt Ltd in Mumbai, India. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, strong expertise in customer service and customer relationship management, and a management degree.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day supply chain operations, ensuring efficient material flow from suppliers to manufacturing processes and warehouses as per the planning department.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and procurement teams & with warehouses to optimize supply chain performance and meet customer demands.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to maintain optimal stock levels in warehouses while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
  • Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models to predict material needs based on production schedules and market demand, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Utilize data analysis to evaluate supply chain performance and make data-driven decisions that improve customer service outcomes.
  • Oversee effective communication with warehouse teams to manage inbound and outbound cargo operations.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of inbound shipments from suppliers and ensure timely receiving and storage of materials.
  • Oversee the preparation and dispatch of outbound shipments to customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with delivery schedules.
  • Check financial paperwork with agreed rates and charges along with inventory MIS.
  • Review and approve all documentation related to inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • oversee organized records of all supply chain documentation, including purchase orders, clearance documents, and supplier paperwork, to ensure accurate tracking and retrieval.
  • Do regular checking of documents prior to sending them outside the organization.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, purchase, logistics and production teams to ensure alignment on customer needs and support business & inventory models and objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to address supply chain challenges that may affect customer satisfaction and ensure timely resolution.
  • Analyze & review regular reports on supply chain performance metrics, including order fulfillment rates, customer satisfaction levels, and inventory turnover.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in customer service.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions that could impact customers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to supply chain operations.
  • Ensure a seamless and fast communication with all customers for delivery and documentation.
  • Ensure a good way of relation and communication with all agents and warehouses.
  • Ensure proper payment collection and reporting.
  • Implement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and success, such as ensuring accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery.
  • Raise and Mark RED FLAGs in agreement with Strategy team and General Manager for customers that are default, rude and not ethical.
  • Develop and implement training programs for supply chain team members to enhance skills and knowledge related to supply chain processes, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is up-to-date with industry best practices, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct and promote inter team training and communication.
  • Promote team participation in HR modules.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this role is ₹8,00,000 - ₹12,00,000 (approximately $9,500-$14,300 USD) depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • A management degree (MBA or equivalent) from a reputed institution.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with exposure to logistics, procurement, and distribution.
  • Proven expertise in customer service, customer relationship management, and document management within ERP systems.
  • Experience in the Metal and Mining industry is advantageous.
  • Skills:

  • Proficient in supply chain technologies, ERP systems, and document control processes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
