Lead Sports Professional

Job Summary

The Lead Sports Professional will oversee the development, implementation and management of sports programs, physical education and wellness initiatives across the institution. This includes managing sports infrastructure, promoting student and staff participation in sports, nurturing athletic talent, and ensuring compliance with national and international sports standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall vision, strategy and policies for the sports department.
  • Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps and physical education curriculum.
  • Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums and grounds to ensure proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Identify, recruit and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Cultivate a culture of fitness and sportsmanship through collaboration with coaches, trainers and faculty.
  • Organize workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns on health, fitness and sports.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices.
  • Promote qualifications and experience by formulating and implementing sports and physical education policies.
  • Optimize sports activities, grants and funding for sports initiatives.
  • Manage intra-mural, inter-college and inter-university sports tournaments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science or related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching or sports management.
  • A proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology and performance analytics.
  • A record of representing the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or State and/or National championships.
  • Familiarity with national sports policies.
