Backend Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer to join our team.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features, write clean and maintainable code, and optimize application performance, security and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers and QA to deliver high-quality features.
  • Write clean and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Optimize application performance, security and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments.
  • Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to architecture and processes.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Professional experience in backend development with a focus on Node.js.
  2. Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
  3. Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL (preferred).
  4. Hands-on experience with databases: SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis).
  5. Expertise in microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
  6. Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes or other containerization/orchestration tools.
  7. Familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure cloud services.
  8. Strong knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Chai, etc.).
  9. Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  10. Excellent problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
  • Familiarity with Serverless (AWS Lambda, etc.).
  • Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) for full-stack contributions.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
