Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of scalable data pipelines for financial systems.

Your primary focus will be on people management, delivery oversight, and operational excellence. You will ensure that project deliverables and operational commitments are met on time, with high quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in technology roles, with 2–3 years in people management of engineering or operations teams. They will also have experience managing delivery of technical projects or supporting mission-critical systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers and operations staff, providing coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  • Delivery Oversight: Ensure project deliverables and operational commitments are met on time, with high quality and compliance.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the smooth running of Accounting and Finance platforms, ensuring adherence to SLAs for availability, reliability, and data accuracy.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Ensure effective resolution of incidents; coordinate root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
  • Process Adherence: Ensure the team follows established engineering, SRE, and operational best practices (code reviews, change management, monitoring, compliance).
  • Resource Allocation: Assign work across the team, balancing project and operational demands.
  • Reporting: Track and report on team progress, system performance, and operational metrics to senior leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation, tooling improvements, and efficiency gains.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of operational practices including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with the ability to partner with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, accounting platforms, or financial data pipelines.
