Entry-Level Kitchen Position

The Commis is an initial role in the culinary team, responsible for supporting the chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals with authenticity and consistency.
  • Manage food preparation and inventory control.
  • Evaluate portion control, plating standards, and hygiene compliance.
  • Train and supervise junior staff in cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and assist in ordering supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the section.
Culinary Skills Development:
  • Develop knowledge of assigned cuisine.
  • Learn fundamental cooking methods and ingredients preparation.
  • Assist in preparing basic sauces and garnishes.
  • Cook standard menu items under guidance.
Necessary Qualifications:

A strong work ethic, ability to follow instructions, and passion for cooking are essential for this position. Prior experience in a kitchen environment is beneficial but not necessary.

Work Environment:

The Commis will be working in a fast-paced kitchen setting, often standing for long periods and exposed to heat and noise.
