UI Tester Job Overview

This role involves testing the user interface of software applications to ensure they meet design specifications, provide a seamless user experience, and are intuitive to use.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manual and Automated Testing: Execute tests to verify that the user interface functions as intended across web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Design Verification: Ensure UI elements (e.g., buttons, menus, forms, layouts) adhere to design mockups, wireframes, and style guides.
  • Cross-Browser/Device Testing: Test applications on various browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and devices (e.g., iOS, Android, tablets, desktops) to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
  • Defect Reporting: Log defects in bug-tracking tools with clear descriptions, steps to reproduce, and screenshots/videos.
  • Usability Evaluation: Assess the user interface for ease of use, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Automation Development: Create and maintain automated UI test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or TestComplete.
  • Collaboration: Work with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers to clarify requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure new updates or features do not negatively impact existing UI functionality.
