Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the bakery shop, producing high-quality bread products, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the efficient operation and control of the bakery shop and production daily according to established standards.
  • Responsible for the production, quality, and presentation of the bread assortment to be used in the daily menus.
  • Assist in preparing production forecasts and recording leftovers to minimize wastage and maintain food costs within budget.
  • Assist in the set-up of the bread display in the various buffets.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of United States Public Health rules and regulations and ensure compliance on a daily basis.
  • Clean the bakery shop as per the Executive Chef's schedule, exercising proper methods to minimize equipment damage.
  • Prepare the bakery for announced or unannounced USPH inspections.
  • Requisition and transport necessary items from main stores to the bakery shop when assigned.
  • Ensure recipes and yields meet company standards.
  • Assist the CDP Baker with the completion of the daily consumption re-cap as required by the Executive Chef.
  • Be aware of and/or acquire the necessary knowledge to comply with ship's standard operating procedures, assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
  • Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and all other work-related activities as required.
Requirements

• A minimum of three years' experience as a Baker in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred)

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment

• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency

Internal Candidate Requirements:

In addition to the stated hiring requirements, internal candidates are required to fulfill the following:

• Completion of at least two contracts as a Baker with a performance rating of satisfactory or above
