Rural Livelihoods Specialist

The purpose of this role is to spearhead the rural livelihoods strategy and create sustainable, scalable, and inclusive income opportunities in Punjab.

You will develop a comprehensive livelihoods strategy aligned with our vision and the socio-economic realities of Punjab. This includes identifying and designing sustainable income-generating opportunities for rural communities.

Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end program design and planning, ensuring integration of technology, digital literacy, and market linkages in livelihood programs, preparing program budgets, resources, and monitoring frameworks, forging partnerships with government, CSR donors, foundations, corporates, and local NGOs, facilitating market linkages, supply chain connections, and access to credit for rural entrepreneurs, and promoting a culture of innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous learning.

• Postgraduate degree in Rural Development, Management, Social Work, Agriculture, or related fields.\
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in livelihoods, rural development, or community enterprise building.\
• Proven track record of leading large-scale livelihood initiatives in India, preferably in Punjab/North India.\
• Strong understanding of social enterprises, women's economic empowerment, agriculture, and allied sectors.\
• Fluency in English, Hindi, and Punjabi (preferred).\
• Strategic thinking with execution excellence, entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented mindset, strong community engagement and participatory approaches, ability to influence stakeholders at grassroots and policy levels, excellent communication, facilitation, and networking skills.\
• Ambitious professional who is passionate about creating lasting impact and willing to take on new challenges.\
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively in a dynamic team environment.\
• Demonstrated commitment to social responsibility and dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.\
• Advanced knowledge of project management tools and techniques, as well as proven experience in developing and implementing successful projects from start to finish.\
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders.\
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.\
• Experience working with governments, NGOs, and private sector organizations preferred.\
• Prior experience in managing teams and mentoring junior staff members highly valued.\
• Collaborative approach to work, with the ability to contribute positively to a diverse team environment.\
• Familiarity with digital platforms, mobile technologies, and other innovative tools that support livelihood programs an asset.\
• Understanding of gender, youth, and disability-inclusive programming also an asset.
