About the Role:

River is an electric vehicle company building multi-utility scooters. We're looking for a skilled professional to lead our warranty and customer quality assurance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage warranty-related costs, implementing strategies to minimize financial impact through early detection of issues and efficient claim processing.
  • Analyze warranty claims to identify cost drivers, trends, and patterns, recommending cost-saving measures to improve product quality and reduce future warranty expenses.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop cost-effective corrective actions aimed at reducing warranty claims and minimizing the cost per claim.
  • Work with suppliers to recover costs related to defective parts or components that fall under supplier warranties, ensuring the company is compensated appropriately.
  • Assist in preparing budgets for warranty claims, providing accurate forecasts of expected warranty costs based on historical data and trend analysis.
  • Handle market and customer complaints while keeping cost implications in mind, striving for efficient resolutions that balance customer satisfaction with financial responsibility.
  • Use data from warranty claims to drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing the overall cost of warranty claims by addressing root causes.
  • Monitor and assess warranty reserves, ensuring that the company has adequate provisions in place to cover expected warranty costs without over-allocation.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warranty costs, ensuring regular reporting on trends and opportunities for cost reductions.
  • Investigate warranty claims and complaints to identify the root cause of failures and attribute costs accurately to responsible areas (e.g., design, supplier, manufacturing).
  • Actively pursue recovery of warranty costs from suppliers when faulty components or subassemblies cause customer complaints or warranty claims.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on product quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Develop strategies for resolving warranty claims that maximize efficiency and minimize cost to the business, ensuring resolutions are both timely and financially sound.
  • Regularly monitor warranty-related KPIs, focusing on metrics such as claim processing time, average claim cost, and total warranty expenditure to ensure cost control.
  • Manage the escalation of high-cost warranty claims, ensuring that appropriate senior management attention is given to cases that significantly impact warranty budgets.

Ideal Candidate:

  • BE in automobile, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • 5 to 18 years of experience in Automotive OEM companies in the field of EV.
  • Hands on experience in handling the end to end customer quality.
  • Good experiences in MS office & good communication skills.
  • SAP knowledge is added advantage.
