Software Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting complex software applications. This includes data-driven templates, formula variables, functions, and multi-pass processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex software applications using OpenText Exstream software development experience.
  • Analyze and debug issues, handle error resolution, and ensure high-quality deliverables in production environments.
  • Work with various data formats, including XML, JSON, columnar, delimited files, and reports for dynamic document generation.
  • Participate in migration, upgrade, and enhancement projects from legacy systems to newer versions or cloud-native platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers, review code, and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices and coding standards.
  • Support automation and scripting efforts using languages like Perl or Python to streamline development and troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience with OpenText Exstream software development, preferably with versions 16.x, 21.x, or newer.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing complex software applications, including data-driven templates, formula variables, functions, and multi-pass processing.
  • Solid understanding of electronic document composition technologies, such as PDF, AFP, and Postscript print streams.
  • Experience with Exstream components, including Data Files, Output Drivers, Page Templates, Communication Server, and Content Author.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based infrastructure, Oracle databases, and CI/CD tools like Git and Bitbucket.
