SQL Database Administrator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBA to join our expanding Information Technology team. In this role, you will help develop and design technology solutions that are scalable, relevant, and critical to our company's success.

You will be working on developing new technology platforms using MS SQL Server and MYSQL Server. This involves participating in all phases of the development lifecycle, implementation, maintenance, and support. You must have a solid skill set, a desire to continue growing as a Database Administrator, and a team-player mentality.

The primary responsibility of the job is the management of production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring. Setting up SQL Server replication, mirroring, and high availability across hybrid environments is required. Designing and implementing new installations on Azure, AWS, and cloud hosting with no specific DB services is also essential.

Database security and protection against SQL injection, exploiting intellectual property, etc., are key aspects of this role. You will work with development teams to assist with data storage and query design/optimization where needed. Participating in the design and implementation of essential applications is crucial.

Demonstrating expertise and adding valuable input throughout the development lifecycle is vital. Helping design and implement scalable, lasting technology solutions is necessary. Reviewing current systems and suggesting updates as required is also an essential task.

Gathering requirements from internal and external stakeholders is a critical part of this role. Documenting procedures to set up and maintain highly available SQL Server databases on Azure cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments is also required.

Testing and debugging new applications and updates resolving reported issues and responding to queries in a timely manner is necessary. Staying up-to-date with current best practices, trends, and industry developments is essential for success in this role.

Identifying potential challenges and bottlenecks to address them proactively is a key aspect of this position.
