HPC Administrator Role Overview

This role involves managing and maintaining our High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment, requiring strong Linux system administration skills, AWS cloud services expertise, and HPC platform experience.

  • HPC Cluster Administration: We are seeking an individual with hands-on experience in administering HPC clusters, including user account management, creation and maintenance of AMI images, and installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux operating systems.
  • User Account Management: Efficient user account management for HPC onboarding and offboarding is essential, ensuring seamless access to the HPC environment.
  • AWS Managed Active Directory Support: Experience with AWS Managed Active Directory support and management is highly desirable, as we require someone who can coordinate with respective providers and implement necessary compliance controls.
  • Platform Upgrades and Maintenance: The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous upgrades to the HPC platform and related components, including OS, Java, Python, EFPortal, and other tools.
  • Compliance and Audits: Implementation and maintenance of necessary compliance controls, regular audits, sharing findings, and implementing corrective actions are crucial.
  • Collaboration and Integration: As a key member of our IT team, you will collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies into our existing infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of the HPC environment.

We value progressive experience in HPC system administration, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment. Knowledge of AWS Cloud formation templates and experience with Amazon FSx for Netapp and Lustre are also highly desired.
