Job Title: Procurement Manager

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the procurement function forward, ensuring seamless supply chain management and strategic sourcing of raw materials.

About the Role:
  • This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in procurement, ideally with a strong background in steel or manufacturing industries.
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with business objectives, while maintaining robust relationships with suppliers.
  • A key aspect of this role is monitoring market trends and pricing fluctuations to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure procurement processes are aligned with production needs and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute procurement strategies based on production demands and market conditions.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and maintain a robust supply chain.
  3. Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
  4. Collaborate closely with production, quality control, finance, and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
  5. Manage inventory levels effectively to balance between availability and cost.
  6. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
  8. Support vendor development and conduct periodic supplier audits for quality and delivery performance.
  9. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
