Control Systems Engineer Lead

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineering Leader to spearhead the design and implementation of advanced control systems for large-scale automation solutions.

  • The successful candidate will lead a team of 15+ Controls Engineers in developing innovative control designs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Responsibilities include managing team escalations, daily resource allocation, hiring, and subcontracting activities.
  • The leader will identify training needs and implement structured training programs to enhance team performance.
  • Collaboration with Sales Engineering, Project Management, Service, and R&D teams is essential as a consultant.
  • Monitoring project risks and opportunities, driving improvements across teams, and ensuring system performance validation through thorough FAT/SAT testing are critical aspects of the role.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving control system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions are key responsibilities.
  • The position requires driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to department KPIs.
Key Competencies:
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing 15+ engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in global, high-demand project environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with a focus on delivery within time and budget.
Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC (mandatory) and Allen Bradley PLC (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in the design and execution of integrated control systems.
  • Ability to align control designs with mechanical, electrical, and software project goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
  • 10–12 years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens required; Allen Bradley a plus).
