Job Description

As a TOC Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining real-time monitoring dashboards in Grafana to provide clear visibility into the health of applications and infrastructure. You will also automate workflows using tools like Jira, and other ITSM platforms, streamlining incident lifecycle processes and reducing manual effort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Monitoring Solutions: Create and manage complex dashboards in Grafana to monitor application and infrastructure health.
  • Automate Workflows: Design and implement automation rules to connect monitoring systems with Jira, improving incident management and response times.
  • Improve Incident Management: Streamline ticket creation, assignment, and escalation within Jira and ITSM tools, ensuring seamless data flow between platforms.
  • Integrate Tools: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth integration between different platforms, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve response times, implementing process improvements as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • IT Operations Experience: Proven experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of operational challenges and technical concepts.
  • Grafana Expertise: Hands-on experience creating and managing complex dashboards in Grafana, with a deep understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  • Jira Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Jira, particularly in workflow automation, custom workflows, and integrations, with the ability to design and implement efficient workflows.
  • ITSM Tools Familiarity: Strong experience with at least one major ITSM platform (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) and a basic understanding of core ITIL processes like Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A strong ability to understand operational challenges and design practical, tool-based solutions without needing to write custom code.
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
