Senior Structural Engineer

The role of a Senior Structural Engineer is multifaceted and demanding, requiring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of junior structural engineers, guiding them in their work and providing strategic direction.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion, including scope definition, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering designs, plans, and documents, meeting quality and cost parameters.
  • Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance checks, and risk assessments for ongoing projects.
  • Lead and review the development of structural design for buildings, retaining walls, and other structures.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering calculations, load assessments, and finite element analysis using software tools.
  • Validate design assumptions and methodologies against applicable international and local standards.
  • Optimize structural systems and material.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders on structural matters.
  • Participate in design charrettes, pre-construction meetings, and construction progress meetings.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in leadership roles.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, and RCDC.
