Supporting Students with Special Needs

The primary focus of this role is to support a single student with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with the student, their family, and other educators to develop personalized strategies that cater to their unique requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the student's teaching team to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions
  • Providing one-on-one support to the student, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs
  • Communicating effectively with the student, their family, and other educators to ensure seamless collaboration and progress monitoring
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in supporting students with special educational needs

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Special Education, such as a Diploma in Special Education (Intellectual Disability/HI/Learning Disability/Autism/VI etc.) from a recognized institution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in digital tools, with the ability to navigate online platforms and software
