Geospatial Web Developer Position

We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Web Developer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, user-friendly geospatial web applications leveraging Python and GIS technologies.

About the Job

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in GIS technologies, Python, and front-end development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geospatial data processing, integration, and visualization using various libraries and frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy geospatial web applications using Python, Django/Flask, and GeoPandas/Shapely/Folium.
  • Integrate geospatial data with databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MySQL, MongoDB) and RESTful APIs.
  • Develop interactive, dynamic GIS maps and automate geospatial data processing workflows using ArcPy, Fiona, or PyQGIS.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and GIS analysts to productionize geospatial models and visualizations.
  • Built responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React/Angular/Vue.js.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with strong proficiency in Python.
  • Expertise in GIS technologies and Python libraries such as GeoPandas, Shapely, Fiona, ArcPy, or PyQGIS.
  • Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Familiarity with database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial data.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and data integration from various sources.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
