Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

  • Install, configure and maintain desktop computers, laptops and related hardware to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support via phone, email or in-person to users with queries and concerns.
  • Install, configure and upgrade operating systems and software to meet business needs.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of desktop systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades as well as security patches to prevent data breaches.
  • Document hardware and software configurations, maintenance procedures and user guides for future reference.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and support projects.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets to ensure accurate records.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology developments and industry standards to remain competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills and experience with desktop hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear instructions and guidance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Prior experience in a desktop support role is desirable but not essential.
