Desktop Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Windows systems, hardware troubleshooting, and networking fundamentals.

This role involves ensuring system reliability, providing efficient support, and maintaining secure computing environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hardware issues including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Performing software installation, updates, patching, and configuration.
  • Managing and monitoring networking services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Providing remote technical support using tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, and RDP.
  • Implementing and managing system imaging, backups, and restore procedures.
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and applying necessary updates to ensure availability.
  • Maintaining security standards by applying patches, updates, and compliance best practices.
  • Diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and networking issues with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Documenting technical issues, solutions, and standard operating procedures.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a Desktop Engineer/System Engineer/System Administrator/IT Support Engineer role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with remote desktop support tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP).
  • Knowledge of system imaging and backup solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA (basic understanding helpful for hardware evaluation).
