Job Role:

Production Designer

As a production designer, you will play a crucial role in the development of furniture items from initial designs to final production.

  • ">

  • Develop detailed production drawings based on initial designs and specifications, ensuring that all necessary technical details, dimensions, and assembly instructions are included.

  • Generate comprehensive cutting lists outlining materials needed for production, including dimensions and quantities, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure materials listed are available and suitable for the intended designs.

  • Utilize software tools to create optimized cutting plans that minimize waste and maximize material efficiency, and continuously analyze and improve cutting plans based on production feedback and material availability.

  • Work closely with furniture designers and engineers to ensure the feasibility of designs from a production standpoint, and communicate effectively with the production team to convey any changes or requirements for the manufacturing process.

  • Review production drawings and cutting lists for accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations, and conduct periodic audits of production processes to ensure adherence to design specifications and optimize production techniques.

  • Utilize CAD software to create and modify production drawings, and stay updated with the latest software tools for cutting list generation and optimization.

  • Maintain organized documentation of production drawings, cutting lists, and project revisions for future reference and compliance, and prepare reports on material usage, production efficiency, and any discrepancies encountered during production.

  • Address any issues that arise during the production process related to design, materials, or cutting optimization, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify solutions and implement changes as necessary.
