Purchasing Cost Optimizer

Role Overview:
- Assume responsibility for the timely settlement of project costs related to metal, machined, rubber, and plastic parts.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Collaborate with suppliers to settle costs using Zero Base Costing (ZBC) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology.
- Conduct monthly analysis of commodity prices.
- Implement raw material price adjustments.
- Visit suppliers to identify cost drivers and areas for improvement.
- Optimize input raw materials and post-operation expenses.
- Negotiate Machine Hour Rate (MHR) with suppliers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis.
- Settle supplier claims and negotiate settlements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree.
- 8-14 years of experience in strategic sourcing.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Process understanding: drawing, forming, machining, surface finishing.
- Raw material grades understanding.
- Quality systems knowledge: IATF 2016 System, core tools.
- Process understanding: rubber injection molding, blow molding.
- Understanding of process details and machine MHR rates.
- Raw material rate understanding.
- AUTOCAD and 3D software knowledge.
- Location-wise labor rate and electricity charges knowledge.
- Skill set enhancement methodology knowledge.
- Line balancing, KANBAN, JIT, and TQM technique knowledge.
- Tax structures and legal compliance knowledge.
Analytical, Presentation, Communication, and Negotiation Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for costing.
- Presentation and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Negotiation skills for supplier relations.
