Job Description:

This position is responsible for preparing the various Pastry and dessert menu items according to provided recipes and photos.

The successful candidate will be assigned a station in the pastry galley, where they can work independently and become familiar with different tasks.

They will also be placed in charge of some pastry and dessert production, which includes setting up displays on buffets as needed.

Additionally, the employee will assist with transportation of food items from main stores to the pastry galley, and perform cleaning and sanitizing duties following United States Public Health rules and regulations.

Occasionally, the employee may be assigned early standby duty in the pastry galley for USPH purposes.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively with guests and crew members.

They should also be able to attend meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related events as required.

Furthermore, the employee will be expected to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency requirement.
