Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Infrastructure Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data storage systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

The ideal candidate will analyze data issues, monitor system performance, and contribute to product architecture to improve services' performance, operability, scalability, service reliability, capacity, and observability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to manage production databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup of traditional SQL-based and NoSQL databases.
  • Design, implement, and upgrade nodes in high availability customer production clusters.
  • Manage an international 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure powering critical applications, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting in the production environment.
  • Contribute to evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure Operations standards are observed, determine resource impacts for upcoming product deployments, and ensure successful product rollouts.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB) required.
  • 6+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona) required.
  • Experience managing Kafka message bus infrastructures strongly preferred.
  • Experience automating management of systems & database using common scripting languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated track record of leveraging them to evangelize technical best practices with databases/data intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in both public clouds and traditional colocation datacenters.
  • Experience using Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or analogous configuration management systems.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience required.
