Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and driving best QA practices across the organization, ensuring high standards of product quality, and leading a team of QA engineers. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products while ensuring adherence to compliance, testing standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team, ensuring they have the resources and guidance to meet project goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the QA team, including setting priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality software releases.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the QA team.
2. Quality Assurance Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with product development goals.
- Establish, enforce, and monitor QA best practices, methodologies, and standards to improve product quality.
- Drive process improvements and automation efforts to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
3. Test Planning and Execution
- Collaborate with product, development, and DevOps teams to define and execute test plans, test cases, and quality metrics for all projects.
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including manual and automated testing, functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, security testing, and regression testing.
- Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of test plans, defects, and results.
4. Automation and Tools Implementation
- Drive the adoption of test automation across projects, ensuring scalable and maintainable automation frameworks are in place.
- Select and implement QA tools and technologies that align with company needs (test management tools, automation tools, etc.).
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with development, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment on quality goals.
- Serve as a key advocate for the QA team in product meetings, ensuring quality considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle.
6. Defect Management and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and analyze defect trends, ensuring that defects are tracked, resolved, and prevented in future releases.
- Introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA processes, defect prevention, and product quality.
7. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage and mitigate risks by proactively identifying potential issues early in the development cycle.
8. Reporting and Metrics
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure QA effectiveness and quality levels.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on testing progress, product quality, and team performance.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Expertise
- Strong background in manual and automated testing across various types of testing (functional, performance, security, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and integrating QA into agile development environments.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with team mentoring, career development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Analytical Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Process-Oriented
A passion for improving processes and ensuring high standards of quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: ISTQB certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in SaaS, cloud-based applications, or mobile testing is a plus.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
