Printed Circuit Board Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Printed Circuit Board Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate PCB libraries to ensure accuracy and consistency in design.
  • Perform schematic capture and ensure design correctness by verifying electrical connections and component placement.
  • Execute component placement considering electrical, DFA, and DFM constraints to optimize board design and layout.
  • Develop power split plans to ensure robust design for power delivery and minimize risk of overheating or other issues.
  • Carry out PCB routing with controlled impedance and length-tuning as required to ensure signal integrity and reduce electromagnetic interference.
  • Handle the complete post-Gerber process with fabrication and assembly readiness to ensure seamless integration into production.
  • Define and calculate layer stack-ups for various board designs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Work with HDI technologies, including blind/buried vias and high-speed peripherals, to create complex PCBs with precise design and implementation.
  • Apply DFX guidelines during design and carry out validation reviews to identify and address any potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Evaluate SI/PI requirements through analysis and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design robustness and reliability, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with leading PCB design tools, such as Allegro, Altium, or Mentor Graphics.
  • Strong knowledge of constraints setting, routing, and post-layout checks to ensure accurate and efficient design.
  • Experience with signal integrity and power integrity validation methodologies to guarantee reliable and high-performance PCBs.
  • Proven expertise in multi-layer PCB stack-up design and materials selection to optimize board performance and minimize risk.
  • Familiarity with HDI techniques, blind/buried vias, and high-speed interfaces to design complex PCBs with precise implementation.
  • Good understanding of DFM, DFA, and DFT considerations in PCB design to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to identify and resolve design issues promptly.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and improving design robustness and reliability.
