About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Supply Chain Quality Engineer to work directly with suppliers to satisfy Yield Engineering Systems' quality standards and strategy in the manufacture and procurement of quality components.

This role involves interacting with all levels of supplier management, supporting transition and supplier development activities within your assigned geographical area, and spending a large amount of time at supplier facilities.

  • Monitoring current supplier quality performance through Supplier Scorecards and other processes.
  • Managing the SCAR's program, which includes issuing SCARs and ensuring that they are returned, completed correctly, and validated.
  • Coordinating between engineering, production personnel, and Quality Engineers to solve production quality issues created by the Supplier.
  • Maintaining constant communication with suppliers to ensure all quality requirements are being met, including First Article Inspection (FAI), Certificate of Completion (CofC), Certificates of Analysis (CofA), Metrology capability, and stability.
  • Reviewing new changes to current approved parts (requested internal/external).
  • Requesting, monitoring, and approving new requests for new revision designs on parts or new part numbers to current approved suppliers.
  • Engaging with suppliers and Supply Chain to help correct supplier behavior and performance.
  • Assisting with the process of 2nd sourcing and supplier qualification.
  • Performing supplier audits and inspections (Accountability for Copy Exact Methodology).
  • Designing PCN processes.
  • Coordinating with Design Engineering on new products and new components.
  • Coordinating with Quality Engineers to determine if customer notification is required for new part designs and process changes.
  • Coordinating with Supply Chain (local and/or global) and Engineers on new component supplier qualifications for inclusion on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and new supplier approval.
  • Creating and managing the New Supplier approval process according to the QMS.
  • Ensuring that supplier documents on new parts or revised parts are submitted, evaluated, validated, and approved before approval is given.
  • Ensuring QMS documents reflect the New Supplier or new parts reflecting the new supplier part requirements.
  • Critically analyzing the nature of defects while providing future solutions.
  • Evaluating prospective and current supplier QMS.
  • Monitoring supplier Quality metrics associated with supplier capability, trends, and related production improvement efforts.
  • Leading/coordinating incoming inspection of parts/assemblies from suppliers with experience reading drawings and measuring parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent technical field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply quality/supply chain or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering, program, or product management.
  • Six Sigma Methods, sourcing, Manufacturing, lean manufacturing knowledge, and experience required.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to create/execute a quality vision, friendly to timely operations of the organization.
  • General understanding of quality statistics (metrology, SPC, distribution comparisons).
  • Ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization.
  • Ability to build consensus across multiple organizations and all levels required for QMS introduction and adherence.
  • Ability to simplify and clarify complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Strong Project Management skills required.
  • Strong customer management & communication skills.
  • Broad supply chain and quality functional expertise.
  • Proven ability to influence and provide multi-functional leadership across multiple sites and various businesses.
  • Track record of driving solutions to assigned tasks utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated experience in global multi-site/multi business operations.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • ISO auditor certification and experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing ISO certification standards required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30%, required.
  • Experience in design/development/mfg of semiconductor equipment or front/back-end semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Experience required with DMAIC, CAPA, RCPS (Root Cause Problem Solving), interaction and collaboration with suppliers and customers required.
