Job Summary:

The Stewarding Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring a high level of service quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring proper functioning and detergent levels.
  • Manage soiled towels, sending them to the laundry and drying them as needed.
  • Assist in polishing silver and copperware, maintaining their shine and integrity.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy, and dry at all times, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Wash dishes as requested by the Steward Supervisor during banquet events, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Monitor and maintain the water level and temperature in the dishwashing machine, changing it every 2 hours as required.
  • Follow proper procedures when handling machinery, wearing protective gear such as rubber gloves, an apron, and hair net.
  • Set up a decoy system before bringing soiled dishes into the kitchen, preparing detergent for soaking cutlery in advance.
  • Report any damaged, faulty, or misused equipment to the Steward Supervisor, ensuring prompt maintenance and repair.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a team player, committed to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
