Academic Director for Student Development

About the Role
Alliance University invites applications for the position of Academic Director for Student Development. This key role will be responsible for promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that academic practices, policies, and initiatives meet the needs of diverse student populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual professional development plans to ensure awareness of trends, best practices, and new information related to student life, student involvement, and activities, student advising, and diversity and inclusion practices.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of extra-curricular and co-curricular courses under the Department of Student Services.
- Plan and introduce new or additional extra-curricular and co-curricular courses to benefit students.
- Lead the recruitment of new students and manage student clubs, organizations, and research centers.
- Support student clubs by arranging funding, facilities, equipment, and manpower for their activities.
- Develop holistic personality development programs, including skills development and soft skills development, and implement them.
- Provide leadership training for student organizations during the academic year.
- Develop and monitor personality development programs.
- Review and update current practices and policies regarding student discipline and administration.
- Incorporate policies and procedures in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Guide, direct, and participate in serious academic-related disciplinary processes, including student suspensions and expulsions.
- Write policies for extra-curricular and co-curricular courses as required, ensuring program consistency.
- Ensure understanding and implementation of UGC/Government of India notifications and regulations.
- Ensure timely review of reports and records related to students' academic, co-curricular, and personality enhancement.
- Collaborate with other vertical heads of DoSSS.
Required Skills
- A strong commitment to and demonstrated skills for working with a diverse student population.
- Experience in handling emotional and psychological issues of students.
- Knowledge of and experience with budget preparation and management.
- Ability to lead and motivate students.
- Good administrative and operational skills.
- Ability to organize and direct multiple activities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
