Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our team and help drive the development of our digital banking platform. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performing microservices using Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust APIs that empower our business with agility.
  • Strive for automation and continuous improvement through API testing, code analysis, and other means.
  • Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle and contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot, SQL, and messaging platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Great test writing skills and experience in test automation.
  • Hands-on experience in relational databases and/or non-relational databases, including transaction management, query optimization, and schema design.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience in micro-service architecture, API design, scalability, maintainability, and supportability.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Experience in working under high pressure, reproducing issues in unit tests, and delivering fixes quickly.
  • Track record of acquiring domain knowledge deep enough to challenge requirements and articulate ideas clearly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to learn necessary domain knowledge and technologies.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in working at financial institutions, preferably in banking or fintech companies.
  • Introductory knowledge in accounting or double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge in how a central clearing party and settlements work.
  • Knowledge of Japanese language is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines from dev to production in the cloud.
