Aerostructure lead engineers are responsible for the development and implementation of finite element analysis (FEA) methodologies in support of design, analysis, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced CAE tools and workflows for structural analysis and meshing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of FEA methodologies across product lifecycle stages.
- Provide expertise on GFEM and DFEM meshing techniques, including generation and validation of high-quality meshes.
- Perform static stress checks using classical methods and solid understanding of FEA fundamentals, material properties, and boundary conditions.
- Develop and implement CAD software skills, such as CATIA and NX, for model extraction and cleanup.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field required.
- 7 to 15 years of relevant experience with a focus on meshing and preprocessing.
- Strong command of Hypermesh and Nastran/Patran for shell and solid meshing.
- Familiarity with GFEM and DFEM meshing techniques and standards.
- Hands-on experience in performing structural analysis hand calculations for static stress checks like buckling, crippling, lug analysis, and fastener checks using classical methods.
- Solid understanding of FEA fundamentals, material properties, and boundary conditions.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA and NX for model extraction and cleanup.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Altair HyperMesh, Patran, Finite Element Method (FEM), Structural Analysis, Hand Calculations
