Cloud Solutions Architect Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the development of a cloud center of excellence environment leveraging AWS technologies.

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring its security, scalability, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving AWS service issues across development, testing, and production environments
  • Managing AWS services, working with internal service groups as required to ensure system availability meets project requirements
  • Designing, building, and deploying cloud solutions using various cloud services and platforms (AWS)
  • Providing guidance and technical expertise on cloud adoption, migration, and optimization
  • Developing scripts to automate systems administration and monitoring activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification, Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience
  • 3+ years of AWS administration experience, including API Gateway, S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, WAF, and CloudTrail
  • 3+ years deploying Infrastructure as Code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform

Key Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, architecture principles, and best practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution

You will be working closely with the IT team to promote higher uptimes, better user experience, and develop future improvements to the overall cloud environment.
