Job Title: Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure seamless continuity of service by designing HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups.
  • Develop and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store to identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply optimization techniques to queries, indexes, and resource allocation to minimize bottlenecks.
  • Leverage expertise in managing business critical applications, including experience with Azure cloud platform services.
  • Foster strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL), enabling informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases with a proven track record of success.
  • Able to design and architect Public cloud environments with ease.
  • Proficient in managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network, and Security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting, such as PowerShell and Azure CLI.
