Advanced Flight Systems Technical Lead

Job Overview

As a hands-on technical lead, you will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap and product pipeline for advanced flight systems.

You will own engineering decisions and ensure they align with product goals. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to guide a small team of engineers in developing next-generation autonomous aerial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the product development roadmap for aerial systems.
  • Break down projects into sequenced phases and set priorities.
  • Lead system-level integration across aerodynamics, structures, avionics, and control.
  • Guide structural and aerodynamic analysis (loads, drag, stability, thermal).
  • Oversee design reviews, documentation, and testing protocols.
  • Support flight testing, data review, and iterative improvements.
  • Mentor and manage engineers, shaping the technical culture of the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A B.Tech/M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, Avionics, or related fields.
  • 7-12 years of experience in aerospace, UAVs, or defense systems.
  • Hands-on experience with flight-ready hardware and testing campaigns.
  • Proven ability to lead small teams and manage multi-disciplinary projects.

Technical Expertise

A strong grasp of airflow behavior, drag, lift, stability, and control is required. Experience in structural analysis, flight avionics and electronics, manufacturing and production, and systems engineering and documentation is also necessary.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in composite manufacturing, carbon fiber, and lightweight structures are preferred.
