Lead Power System Engineering Team Member

Our organization seeks a highly experienced and skilled professional to oversee the Power Systems Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of power system planning and operations, allowing them to effectively manage team performance, guide project execution, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Team and Operations Management: Oversee all departmental operations, including managing staff workloads and collaborating with HR on recruiting, retention, and development. Set and implement department goals, objectives, and standards, ensuring work is assigned efficiently and with a focus on quality and productivity.
  • Mentoring and Performance: Provide continuous mentoring and constructive feedback to your team members. Conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews and hold the team accountable for meeting work budgets, metrics, and schedules.
  • Project and Process Leadership: Advise and guide team members to ensure they use the right technical resources for projects and quality reviews. Develop and improve project execution and design tools, as well as study workflows and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Build strong relationships and coordinate with managers and leads across different global practices and office locations. Present complex information clearly and effectively to all levels of employees and management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power System Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in power system planning activities such as power flow studies, short circuit, transient stability, and protection coordination studies.
  • Expertise in power system analysis software like PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP, PSCAD, and ETAP. Familiarity with IEEE/NERC and IEC standards essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to present complex information. Experience giving and receiving performance feedback.
