Job Title

About the Role

This is a leadership position where you will oversee the technical direction, quality, and delivery of cross-functional teams working on strategic data products. You will lead by example: designing solutions, writing code, mentoring engineers, and working closely with architects and stakeholders to drive results.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be expected to write code, guide architecture, help shape team processes, and contribute to the technical growth of the team around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of projects within the Data and Analytics Engineering team from design to deployment.
  • Collaborate with our architect and operations lead to define scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs.
  • Break down complex problems and drive practical solutions with the team.
  • Champion software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and automation.
  • Mentor and support team members through code reviews, design sessions, and informal coaching.
  • Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and patterns — and guide their adoption when appropriate.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a senior engineer or technical lead, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-grade software solutions.
  • Deep understanding of software design, distributed systems, and cloud architectures.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring other engineers.
  • Skilled in evaluating trade-offs and driving consensus in architectural decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and able to articulate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in agile, collaborative environments with a team-first mindset.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, particularly with broker-dealer systems, trading data, or regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms or data engineering systems.
  • Familiarity with technologies like C#, AWS, AWS Glue, GraphQL, or Blazor.
  • Demonstrable experience in data modelling and data architecture including data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, streaming, and data APIs.
