Lead Drainage Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Drainage Engineer to join our team.

About the Role:

  • As a Lead Drainage Engineer, you will be responsible for leading drainage projects through various stages of the design process, from feasibility to planning/detailed design and onto construction.
  • You will prepare designs in accordance with industry standards and protocols.
  • You will conduct technical checking and design reviews to ensure the highest level of quality.
  • You will train and mentor junior staff to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • You will manage a small team and perform other line management responsibilities.
  • You will work closely with senior engineers to set developmental goals for the team.
  • You will engage with clients and stakeholders to secure projects and improve team utilization.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience working as a consultant within the drainage sector.
  • A proven track record of dealing with clients and forging effective relationships.
  • Experience of mentoring and guiding junior staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work to UK standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, Microstation & Civil3D software.
  • Familiarity with standard MS Office software and Causeway Flow/MicroDrainage tools.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer within 1-2 years.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering.
