Job Description:

The Operational Excellence Specialist will be responsible for spearheading a comprehensive initiative to enhance operational effectiveness and profitability across global manufacturing sites and processes. This role involves collaborating with site leadership teams and director-level professionals to develop and execute a performance transformation aimed at driving operational excellence, streamlining systems, and fostering a continuous improvement culture.

This position will be measured annually on the ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and develop and execute operational excellence/continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, impact and influence skills, and significant experience in change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-saving projects through operational efficiencies.
  • Establish an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) program to track, identify, and eliminate lost production causes.
  • Conduct value stream mapping exercises to define processes and work with the site to implement or streamline/improve use of Lean tools, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Sponsor and support projects and programs within businesses for identification of improvement levers, setting smart objectives, and carrying out Manufacturing Excellence programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma to drive business results
Strong technical skills
Initiative
Project Management skills

Benefits:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred; education with a scientific background is highly desired.

Relevant Work Experience: BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline and at least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence / continuous improvement, or consulting role required. Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology field and relevant MS/MBA (Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, etc.) preferred.
