Job Title: Automotive Systems Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled automotive systems designer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and evaluating various steering systems, including steering mechanisms and their aggregates.

  • Designing and optimizing steering system hard points, taking into account suspension hard points
  • Developing designs for different steering systems, such as rack and pinion, centre-take off, and bell crank
  • Creating collapsible steering column and power steering system designs, depending on project requirements
  • Detailing 3D steering column and fork designs
  • Performing 3D modeling and 2D drafting

You will work closely with our design, validation, CAE, manufacturing, development, and service teams to ensure that your designs meet performance and durability requirements. Additionally, you will consider cost factors and aspects in design parameters and specifications.

Your expertise in functional areas should include:

  • Unigraphics: Modeling and Assembly modules (critical)
  • A good understanding of GD&T principles and process capabilities
  • Exposure to relevant design standards (IS, JIS, JASO, DIN, ISO)
  • DFMEA
  • An understanding of relevant manufacturing processes, such as forging, casting, and machining
  • Exposure to metrology and capable of basic measurements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive engineering or related field required. Basic knowledge and experience of manufacturing aspects, tooling, and processes desirable.
