Job Role: Power Electronics Expert

About the Position:

This role is focused on power electronics design and development, working closely with a team to deliver high-quality electronic boards for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment and effective communication.
  2. Conduct thorough analysis of existing power electronic boards, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for optimization.
  3. Design schematics for electronic board functions, including snubber circuits, high-current switching, over-current detection, and over-voltage limiters.
  4. Develop board layouts considering system integration requirements, ensuring seamless interaction between components.
  5. Assemble prototype boards in a controlled laboratory environment, verifying component functionality and performance.
  6. Coordinate the assembly process of consolidated board designs with external manufacturing partners, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  7. Test prototype boards in the laboratory, analyzing results and making data-driven decisions to improve design and functionality.
  8. Support the development team in testing new power boards on batteries, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  9. Establish and maintain an electronic lab to develop and test prototype boards, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Reporting and Documentation:
  1. Document power electronics design and validation activities with clarity and precision, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  2. Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders, providing transparent updates on project status and outcomes.
Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration:
  1. Participate actively in industry forums and technical circles to share knowledge and best practices, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in power electronics.
  2. Provide technical feedback and insights to improve electronic design methodologies, contributing to the advancement of the field.
  3. Monitor state-of-the-art technologies, particularly focusing on multi-level converter topics, to stay informed and adapt to changing requirements.
Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in electronic board designs with high current (>>100A RMS) and experience in high-power switching devices such as MOSFETs.
  • Solid knowledge of converter topologies, including multi-level converters, and understanding of snubber circuits, transient limiters, and over-current detection.
  • Experience with PCB design tools like Altium Designer and familiarity with relevant software and equipment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience in industrial converter development and automotive electronic board development.
  • Knowledge of battery technologies and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
